A Buyer’s Guide to Fox Body Mods MRT

Today, the vast majority of Fox Body Mustangs being restored, customized, and raced have the 5.0L V8 engine under the hood.  MRT has spent time engineering and developing useful, fun and high-performance products for these project cars.  In our opinion, every fox body should have a tough performance V8 sound, so we have developed several variations of exhaust sounds and looks for the entire Fox Body family of cars.

For race applications we have a Non catted 304 Stainless Steel H-Pipe that bolts up to the stock manifolds and direct fit short tube header applications.  You can choose between two variations of cat back exhaust sounds:  the chamber flow cat back gives a deep performance sound with the traditional chamber muffler burble or the Sport Touring Cat back, which is a bit deeper and louder. Both systems are handcrafted from T304 stainless steel for long-lasting performance and American made in Plymouth, MI.

For street performance, we offer an H-pipe that includes Catalytic converters.  This catted H-pipe bolts up to the stock manifolds or direct fit shorty headers.  You can also choose between the chambered or Sport Touring performance cat back exhaust systems.

No matter which exhaust system you choose, you can customize the tip presentation to match your car’s look. We offer polished angle cut tips, polished angle cut tips with a greater angle, and turn down tips.  We off all of these configurations to match the right look with the right vintage Mustang.

After completing many Fox Body restorations, MRT also developed a set of heavy duty fascia mounting brackets for replace the rusted out, worn original parts. These brackets are necessary to secure the fascia to the body structure, and they’re powder coated for maximum durability.

Now that your Fox Body Mustang is sounding good and looking good with your facias fitting tight and right!  It’s time to add the coolest, simplest and easiest modification of all!  The Original MRT Hood Struts for 1979-1993 Mustangs!  This product was designed and developed and manufactured at MRT!  The idea is simple use existing mounting fasteners, add brackets and gas struts designed to hold the hood open for you without a prop rod!  It is clean, simple and will put a smile on your face!

Finally, if you’re looking for a simple, quick way to modify your Mustang, check out our shorty antenna. It’s a great way to get rid of that long radio antenna on your hood. MRT offers some great products for Fox Body Mustangs that we are sure you will enjoy.  Give us a call with any questions or shop our on-line catalog for a full selection of product offerings and to assist with installation when possible.
