A classic vehicle upgrade that will definitely get noticed and improve performance is to replace the stock exhaust. MRT has been designing Mustang Exhaust systems since the early days providing Pony Car owners with mid-pipes in an H-pipe configuration for better flow and Chamberflow cat back exhausts for the iconic muscle car sound. These early MRT exhaust systems were designed in T304 stainless providing better corrosion resistance than OE stock material, manufactured using mandrel bent tubes for improved performance flow and designed to give a performance sound that complements the vehicle’s DNA. This design approach forms the underlying principles for every MRT product design.
MRT resonator delete, axle back and cat back exhausts were so well received that the MRT exhaust product line grew to include many Ford, Chevy, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, Toyota, Subaru and Honda cars, trucks and SUVs. We offer simple mods with big performance improvements such as the popular Charger or Ram TRX resonator delete, sport touring Explorer ST axle back and more recently we introduced mid-pipe exhaust tubes for the all-new Jeep Rubicon 392 and Honda Civic Type-R. MRT is a full-service exhaust supplier which means we make our exhaust systems in-house and we offer custom exhaust services for all makes and models.
As the MRT exhaust product offering expanded, so did our distribution network. Phastek Performance joined Team MRT 13 years ago as a distributor of MRT Camaro, Silverado and Corvette products. One of the most popular and most copied MRT products is the no drill hood strut kit. We designed this kit for our 2006 SEMA Mustang as a simple way to clean up the engine bay by getting rid of the engine prop rod. When the kit was installed, we loved how much easier it was to access the engine that we decided to share this invention with other product enthusiasts. The SN197 kit was launched first and we quickly extended the design to the other Mustang generations and more recently to the Ford Focus, Explorer, Bronco and Maverick. The kits are easy to install and in most cases require no vehicle modifications. You may be surprised to learn that MRT produces more than premium exhaust systems and rugged, heavy duty hood strut kits. Through participating in Optima Challenge and the American Iron series and understanding basic aerodynamic principles, we know that a reduction in aero forces is a must for a successful race. Team MRT got inspired and designed a few robust adjustable front splitters for Ford Mustang derivatives. These splitters will reduce drag in all driving conditions and help you put some distance between you and other drivers. Also, MRT restored a few Fox Body Mustangs and the stock fascia brackets were rusted out and needed replacing. We tried to find replacement brackets and finally decided it was easier to use our manufacturing capability to make them in-house.
